The Group Housing at Wheeler Peak Lodge features a central common area flanked by two wings of 22 bunks each for a total of 44 bunks. Each bunk wing has 3 showers, 3 toilets, and 4 sinks. The outer bunks face each other so that a group of 4 shares a space while the inner bunks face the back of the other bunks, offering more privacy for the group of 2. All bunks have individual privacy curtains and all bunk units have a second privacy curtain.
The central common area features a household kitchen with coffee maker, cup rack, sink, cabinet storage, dishwasher, and household refrigerator/freezer. Adjacent is a dish/food storage cabinet, a commercial freezer, and a commercial refrigerator. There is a kitchen table that seats 8-10. Two leather couches provide for comfortable lounging. Entertainment includes a 65 HDTV and a pool table.
Both the common area and the bunk wings open to a large covered patio that is perfect for summertime lounging. A large propane grill is available for outside cooking. And of course the entire Lodge features unbeatable views of Angel Fire and Wheeler Peak. The Group Housing is perfect for scouts, church, family, high altitude training, and work crew groups.
